Essay Writing (Crime)
Levels of youth crime are increasing rapidly in most cities around the world.
What are the reasons for this, and suggest some solutions.
Juvenile crime has been a worrying issue throughout time. Accordingly, the upward trend of committing crime between youths has always garnered attention to itself. There are countless number of reasons for this issue and more importantly, it seems to be clear that serious measures need to be taken in order to solve the problem.
To begin with, it is needed to define causes of this trend. There are several petty crimes which are very common for teenagers, such as, vandalism and graffiti. In fact, these are not severe offenses and the main known reason for them is the age and peer pressure. But there are more offensive crimes like robbery, burglary, mugging and pick-pocketing. Statistics show the main reason of them is drug addiction which is significantly high between youths.
As young people are the main assets of every country, serious actions need to be taken not only by government, but also by parents. Parents are responsible for pre-teens’ crimes. If parents spend enough time with their children to give them suitable upbringing, peer pressure of falling down with wrong crowd will not affect them. About more severe offenses, which are mostly committed by addicted people, first of all, government should stop drug smugglers, second provide some enthusiastic programs which motivate youths to build a better future for themselves.
To put the whole issue in a perspective, I strongly believe it is one of the most important responsibilities for parents and highest priority for government to help together to overcome this critical issue.
